Miley Cyrus may not actually become Time's Person of the Year
SHE’S DOMINATED POP CULTURE this year, but do we actually think Miley Cyrus is up there with Barack Obama, Mark Zuckerberg and Pope John Paul II?
Time Magazine is looking for its readers to vote in its Person of the Year Poll to choose the person they think “most influenced the news this year for better or worse”. It initially looked as if that person could be our favourite twerker.
Not any more, it seems.
Though Miley was running away with the vote just this morning, Egyptian general Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is now in the lead by over 1%, while Miley has slipped into third place.
General Sisi played a leading role in ousting Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi following last summer’s protests, a far cry from twerking in front of Robin Thicke and licking a sledgehammer.

In case you’re bitterly disappointed, Miley probably wouldn’t have won anyway – the magazine’s editorial board ultimately chooses the winner.
But if you still want her to win the people’s choice, you can vote here until tomorrow, December 4. The Time Person of the Year will be announced on December 11.
